Universitas Padjadjaran Faculty of Medicine Cares About the Environment

Gender equality, both in Indonesia and globally, remains unbalanced. Research indicates that the representation of women at management levels in the private sector is still not met and remains very minimal. According to the World Economic Forum’s research, Indonesia is ranked 101 out of 156 countries for gender equality.

The Faculty of Medicine supports and promotes the role of women, aligning with the government’s focus on women’s development as a priority in the national medium-term development plan for 2020-2024.

Currently, 46% of structural positions at the Faculty of Medicine are held by women. Female leadership, both in the private and public sectors, is crucial for the nation’s welfare. Research by McKinsey from 2018-2021 supports this, stating that female leadership can create healthier, more egalitarian organisations and produce comprehensive and inclusive decisions by considering various perspectives.”
