Unpad Faculty of Medicine Provides Dormitory Facilities for New Students
New students at Padjadjaran University in the Medicine and Veterinary Medicine programs, as well as recipients of the Bidikmisi Scholarship, will specifically reside in on-campus dormitories during their first year of studies. Regarding dormitory fees, the rates for the regular program are very affordable and guaranteed to be cheaper compared to renting off-campus housing. These rates are adjusted based on the number of occupants in each room and the facilities available in each dormitory. For Bidikmisi Scholarship recipients, dormitory costs will be subsidized by the University.
The facilities provided in the dormitories not only cover comfortable living needs but also include sports facilities, a music studio, a karaoke room, and Wi-Fi internet access to support the students’ learning process. This program aims to help and ease the financial burden of living expenses for students. Additionally, it is designed to strengthen students’ character. The program targets non-academic development, including discipline training, fostering camaraderie, tolerance, and concern for the dormitory environment. It is hoped that this program will support the adaptation process and academic development of new students.
In practice, each dormitory will be assisted by a dormitory mother and two senior students from each program. The dormitory mother and senior students are responsible for implementing the program, supporting dormitory stability, and supervising the students. Besides adapting, new students are expected to maintain the cleanliness of the dormitory environment. This activity ensures that the dormitory remains well-maintained and can be used by new students in the following year.
